The Beretta 92F is now the U.S. Military sidearm. Originally made in Italy, it is now built in a modern Beretta factory in Maryland.
It is a modern double action, staggered magazine 9mm., replacing the Colt Government .45. This pistol has been given wide publicity through the Armed Forced contract competition and has been very successful in the civilian market, as well. This well made, well designed handgun is certain to be around for a long time.
With a double stacked magazine, the grip frame on this pistol is somewhat bulky. Thus, we keep the grips slim in the three standard styles (Classic Panel, Finger Grooves, and Ultima Panel) we make, and we have recently introduced a Slim version in our Classic Panel style.
The Classic Panel follows the lines of the factory grips that come with the gun. The Finger Grooves style wraps around the front of the frame, providing excellent control. The Ultima Panel is particularly comfortable to hold; it is narrow at the web but fills the palm of the hand. This allows the positioning of the hand to remain the same each time.
We make the three standard styles in Bonded Ivory and Super Woods. The Classic Panel style is available smooth, checkered, or low-profile checkered. The Finger Grooves style is available smooth or low-profile checkered. The Ultima Panel style is available smooth. We offer both smooth and checkered styles for our Slim version of the Classic Panel grips in the Super Woods.
For the Classic Panel and Finger Grooves style grips, we offer customized grips: oval inlays and scrimshaw.
The oval inlays make the Beretta 92F grip stand out. The wood and scrimshaw artwork on the inlay contrast well with the blue and stainless frame. We can scrimshaw most of our designs on the ovals, as well as initials and other logos. The oval inlays are traditionally on the right side only, but upon request, we can inlay the left side only, or both sides.
The broad panel of the 92F grips allows and excellent surface for scrimshaw.
The detail can be expanded and the effect of the artwork has added impact.
It also allows the widest possible selection of designs for personalizing the pistol.
